VALENCIA, Spain, Sept. 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Arthex Biotech, a clinical-stage biotechnology company advancing RNA-based therapeutics for neuromuscular disorders, today announced the appointment of Glenn Sblendorio, M.B.A., as Chairman of its Board of Directors. Mr. Sblendorio is a seasoned biotechnology executive and board member with more than three decades of experience leading corporate strategy, finance, business development and capital markets initiatives. Most recently, he was Chief Executive Officer of IVERIC bio, Inc. (acquired by Astellas Pharma, Inc.) and was previously President and Chief Financial Officer of The Medicines Company (acquired by Novartis). Throughout his career, he has helped build and grow innovative biotechnology companies through pivotal stages of development.

Mr. Sblendorio is an accomplished biotechnology executive with extensive experience in executive and board leadership, finance, accounting and business development.  Prior to IVERIC bio, Inc. and The Medicines Company, Mr. Sblendorio was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Eyetech Pharmaceuticals, Inc. until it was acquired by OSI Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Prior to that, he served as a Managing Director of MPM Capital Advisors. Mr. Sblendorio currently serves as Chair of the Board of Directors of Mineralys Therapeutics, Inc., and a member of the Board of Directors of Amicus Therapeutics, Inc. (acquired by Biomarin) and ARTHEx.  Mr. Sblendorio received his B.B.A. from Pace University, his M.B.A. from Fairleigh Dickinson University and is a graduate of the Harvard Advanced Management Program.
