Canada's Year of Sport continues with an important announcement to help strengthen Canada's sport system and reinforce our position as the best sport-hosting nation in the world.

OTTAWA, ON, Sept. 18, 2026 /CNW/ -- We are building Canada strong, from playground to podium. As Canada's Year of Sport continues with the 2026 IWBF Wheelchair Basketball World Championships in Ottawa, the Honourable Adam van Koeverden, Secretary of State (Sport), will attend the Men's gold medal game on Saturday and make an announcement at the closing ceremony. He will be available for interviews.
