Brazilian player also advances to Day 2 of current $5 Million GTD NLH Venom PKO.

SAN JOSÉ, Costa Rica, Oct. 16, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Brazilian poker player Gabriel "kingqueensuited" Tavares collected $204,657 from back-to-back Sunday Banana victories at Americas Cardroom on Oct. 4 and Oct. 11. He has also secured a Day 2 stack in the $5 Million GTD NLH Venom PKO.

Tavares won $96,336 in the Oct. 4 Sunday Banana, a $1,050 buy-in event that attracted 436 entries and generated a $436,000 prize pool. He earned $108,321 the following Sunday, finishing first in a field of 502 entries competing for $502,000.

"When you play high stakes, consistency is very important, and winning tournaments like that is very important," Tavares said in an Americas Cardroom interview.

Tavares attributed his approach at the second final table to discipline while holding a medium stack against much shorter opponents.

His previous results include winning the $10 Million GTD NLH Venom in April 2025, overcoming 3,735 entries. In the current $5 Million GTD NLH Venom PKO, he qualified with 4,248,891 chips from the Oct. 4 opening flight, the second-largest stack to advance from Day 1A.

Two flights remain in the $2,650 direct buy-in tournament. Day 1D runs today, Oct. 15, and Day 1E takes place Sunday, Oct. 18, both at 1:05 p.m. ET. Day 2 begins Monday, Oct. 19, at 1:05 p.m. ET.

Brazilian players remain a major part of the Americas Cardroom community, with frequent deep runs and big results in top online events.
